The mother of a toddler killed with an air gun says planned gun control reforms don’t go far enough. Sharon McMillan wants to see a complete ban on the weapons. Her comments come as justice secretary Kenny MacAskill revealed plans to make all air gun owners have a licence for their weapons. Scottish computer hacker Gary McKinnon will face no further criminal action in the UK. The announcement by the Director of Public Prosecutions follows the Home Secretary’s decision in October to block his extradition to the United States. In other news, a woman who sued a health board after doctors failed to spot signs of cancer stands to receive two million pounds in damages. And finally in sport, Ally McCoist has criticised the SPFA, claiming they put his players in a compromising position following the Union’s decision to take legal action against Rangers.
